Die Kunst Des Eises (The Art of Ice) will be traveling across the US to a private collector this week…Many thanks to Saatchi’s curators who made this happen. The four panels were inspired by the frozen harbor’s slow melt this past winter, and the 23k gold leaf detailing recalls the sun’s rays touching down…I loved creating these wafer-thin porcelain layers with this unusual German porcelain. They are meant to be hung so that the abstract ice moves from large pieces to smaller and smaller ones as the harbor melted.
